1. Victorian High Country

2. Lake Eyre

An eerily silent and beautiful landscape that bursts into life with the oncoming of the rains, drive down Lake Eyre’s open country and enjoy its rough solitude. 4.  Fraser Island

5.  Hay River

Having a trail route of around 928km, the Hay River track follows the course of a now-extinct water body. To drive down this stunning region, you will need to apply for a permit. You can see the Spinifex and Big Red Dunes along the way, and of course, wait till after the rains. That’s when the desert comes to life, with shrubs and bushes bursting into colour.
